Religion at the Greenhouse. Exploring the Dynamics and Growth of RESILIENCE

11 May 2026 - 11 May 2026

We are pleased to invite you to the event "Religion at the Greenhouse. Exploring the Dynamics and Growth of RESILIENCE", taking place on 11 May 2026 in Bologna. This gathering marks an important milestone in the development of RESILIENCE, the European Research Infrastructure dedicated to advancing high-quality, critically grounded knowledge on religion.

Introduction

In a time of growing religious diversity, geopolitical tensions, digital disruption, and the rapid spread of (mis)information across Europe, the need for reliable and accessible expertise on religion is greater than ever. Research Infrastructures play a vital role in strengthening Europe’s capacity to support evidence-informed policy making, cultural heritage preservation, and innovative academic research.

RESILIENCE has emerged as a key European platform integrating data, archives, digital tools and scholarly expertise across countries and disciplines. As the infrastructure continues to expand its membership, refine its services, and consolidate its governance, this event provides an opportunity to reflect on its achievements and its contribution to the European Research Area.

Programme

The programme will focus on three thematic areas:

  • Research Infrastructures and Policy Making, examining how infrastructures can support informed decision-making in fields where religion plays a significant societal role.
  • Serving Research, Building Knowledge, presenting RESILIENCE’s services and exploring future developments in digital scholarship, interoperability and transnational access.
  • Impact, Innovation and Public Engagement, discussing the scientific, technological and societal impact of RESILIENCE, and its role in fostering reliable public knowledge on religion.

Your presence would be greatly appreciated.
