About

The Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Ammochostos and His Eminence Metropolitan Vasilios established the “Agios Epifanios” Cultural Academy in 2008. The Academy was reconstituted in 2022.

The Academy aims to advance research and the study and promotion of the cultural, religious and natural heritage of Cyprus and the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. Since its establishment, the Academy has developed activity in the fields of Hagiography, Theology, History and Archaeology, Literature, Art, Ecology, Church and Traditional Music. At the same time, through programs and activities, it aims to contribute to cultural and social development.

The activities of the Academy include the publication of scientific and other works, the organizing of conferences, seminars, lectures, events and exhibitions. The basic priority of the Academy is the establishment of the Institute of Studies, Research and Culture, the carrying out of research, scientific and educational programs, as well as the development of a Library, physical and digital, oriented towards the study of Cypriot Hagiography and the history and culture of Cyprus and the wider region.

For the implementation of its goals and development of its activities, the Academy collaborates with institutions and organizations in Cyprus and abroad.
