During the late Middle Ages, it was not common practice to allow the establishment of a faculty of theology except at those universities that had given proof of their worth. The Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies conceives itself as situated at the crossroads of the academy, the Church, and present day culture and society, with a special place for the Catholic tradition.
The Faculty’s research and teaching is characterized by a careful handling of the past, a profound commitment with regard to the present and a hopeful belief in a better future.
